Get those sick kids healthy faster

The best way to nurse a cold or flu is of course lots of fluids and rest. Sometimes plain water just doesn't cut it. So I made this Ginger Raw Lavendar honey Orange/Lemon aid for my kids when they are under the weather.

Kick the Cold Orange Lemonade

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 inch ginger root ( peeled and thinly sliced )
  • 1/2 orange juice
  • juice of 4 little sweet lemons or 2 large lemons
  • 1 tbsp raw lavender ( plain ) honey, more or less to your taste

Instructions:

  1. Add ginger to 1/2 c. boiling water and simmer for 10 mins ( the longer your simmer, the more flavor you can out of the root ) 
  2. Stir in honey to dissolve
  3. Add a few ice cubes to cool the sweetened ginger water so you won't kill the goodness from the juice
  4. Add orange and lemon juice, stir well.
