About this blog

So what got me into blogging? I started this blog first as a reflection of my holistic IBD healing journey. Then I quickly learned that accountability is important when you're trying to achieve a goal. Here's where I kept track of the beginning of my Paleo Autoimmune Protocol and my AIP version of childhood favourite recipes with Asian influences. It's like my healing journal and recipe notes all in one. After recently getting to remission through tweaking food choices and lifestyle, I'm excited to be exploring other aspects of healthful living beyond food. I hope you'll join me on my joyful expedition towards gratitude, health, and love.

In June 2013,  I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. I tried the pharmaceutical route but still went into a second flare in August. I went to emergency when I was unable to manage my pain, bloody diarrhea and dehydration at home. I went on a short term of prednisone and at the same time changed my eating habits by cutting out grains. Within days of going grain free, I was feeling better. Of course there were questions how much of it was the steroids and how much was the diet. I continued with this new found way of eating after my course of steroids and did my first Whole30 in September. It was an awakening!

With wonder and persistence, my protocol continues to evolve, recognizing that we are a work in progress helps me thrive on with openness to learn.

As time passes, I still feel the kitchen is where my healing began. However, I've now gathered some interesting techniques to support my body's healing process, these include self care, homeopathy, energy healing and essential oil. I look forward to sharing with you what has worked for me and hope I can spark some inspirations in your journey too. I'm always around for encouragement!
